After the Success of Samsung Wave S8500 Samsung yet again come back with their brand new Smartphone the Samsung Galaxy Tab. This smartphone will be available soon in the United States through all four major wireless carriers. The Apple iPad has already sold millions and has a significant head start on tablet competitors like the Galaxy Tab, but the Galaxy Tab has a variety of compelling features and functions that could sway the decision between the two.

Lets review the Samsung Galaxy Tab with Seven Major Points of its success.

1. Size. The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a 7-inch display. The display is smaller than the iPad's 9.7 inches, but is still large enough to be functional and differentiate it from simply being a large smartphone (like the Dell Streak).

2. Weight. At just over 13 ounces, the Galaxy Tab is about half the weight of the iPad. When holding it one-handed for extended periods of time, the Galaxy Tab will be less strenuous and more comfortable than the one and a half pound iPad.

3. SD Memory Card. The Galaxy Tab only comes in 16Gb and 32Gb models, compared with the iPad's 16Gb, 32Gb, and 64Gb models, but it has an SD memory card slot that can add an additional 32Gb of storage and bring it up to 64Gb. The memory card option also adds versatility and endless storage because it can be swapped out and provides a means of transferring data between the Galaxy Tab and other devices.

4. Cameras. While few will adopt the Galaxy Tab as their portable camera of choice, having the option to snap photos is a plus. More importantly, having a front-facing camera and video chat and Web conferencing capabilities is a benefit from a business perspective. There is a reason that cameras were one of the most speculated features before the iPad launched without them, and why they are the most rumored feature of the upcoming next-generation iPad.

5. Flash. Apple has recently softened its position slightly on Flash, but there is still no direct Flash Player compatibility within the iPad. For those who feel Flash is an important element of the Web surfing experience, the Galaxy Tab is the way to go.

6. RAM. The Galaxy Tab has 512Mb of RAM--twice as much as the Apple iPad. More RAM means more apps can be actively run in memory without bogging the system down.

7. Multitasking. Android has true multitasking. Currently, the iPad has no multitasking other than the core apps like the iPod player that Apple chose to allow to run in the background. When the iPad gets iOS 4.2 in November, it will get the iOS 4 multitasking, but that is still a limited pseudo-multitasking that isn't as robust as what the Galaxy Tab has to offer.

Previously we took a look at the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus and what it offered in terms of design and screen performance. We were suitably impressed so now it is time to delve a little deeper and take a look at some other aspects of this exciting new device.

One thing you will notice when using the handset for the first time is that it operates at a very fast pace. A powerful 1. 2 Ghz processor is the reason why this operation is so impressive. This ARM Cortex A9 chip is a dual core affair meaning multi tasking really benefits as one core can perform your current task whilst the second core can keep one running in the background. A slight disappointment with the model is that it offers an inferior graphics processing unit to the popular Galaxy S2 model.

The Power VR SGX540 is a good quality chip and capable of handling a wide variety of material but it would have been nice to see this model offer something a little more in line with what is fitted on other premium models. The Galaxy Nexus is available with two different internal storage capacities. The smaller model should suffice the everyday smartphone user with its 16GB of capacity whilst the larger 32GB model will be more suited to anybody looking to store a large number of audio or video files on the handset.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus includes a digital still camera capable of taking photographs in 5 mega pixel resolution. Despite this standard being lower thant the 8 mega pixel offered on many new phones it still gives a high quality of image that looks superb when viewed on the phones own screen. It is pleasing to see that the video capture is of the highest quality thanks to its 1080P capabilities which make it one of the best models available in this area and certainly equal to the likes of the iphone 4S and the HTC Sensation XE. As is common with premium smartphones a secondary front facing camera is included. This is a cut above the usual standard and can capture pictures at 1. 3 mega pixel resolution as well as enable video calls.

The upgraded operating system present on this model brings many changes to mobile devices that we saw implemented on Android tablet devices earlier in the year. Web browsing benefits from a boost in speed as well as improved tab browsing facilities. The Google voice search feature has also been improved although its use is not as varied as the new Siri system that Apple offer on their latest models. Seasoned Android users will notice some subtle enhancements to the interface whilst multi tasking has also seen some improvements applied.

The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus could well be the phone to take over from the Galaxy S as the leading mobile device. Despite one or two areas which could have been improved such as the digital still camera and the GPU the phone offers high specification and looks to rival every other phone that is currently available.
